LangChain AI Updates: October 20, 2026
1. Numan Details the Eval Setup Behind Its LangGraph Health Coach
LangChain. A LangChain blog post published October 19 describes how UK digital health company Numan built Nu, an AI health coach for patients managing weight, hormone, and sexual health conditions. Nu is a LangGraph graph in which a supervisor hands off to domain-specialist sub-agents, with guard nodes inside the graph that review every outgoing reply and send unsafe drafts back for regeneration. Numan reports that single-turn LLM-judge fixtures and scripted multi-turn conversations both failed as evals; it moved to themed datasets scored per category (safety, routing, medication queries, coaching quality) run through the same graph patients use, with safety probes gating releases and clinicians signing off on rubrics. With traces, datasets, and experiments in LangSmith, switching frontier model providers took about a day, though the post gives no pass-rate figures. Source
2. LangGraph CLI 0.4.37 Makes Serverless the Default Deploy Target
LangChain. langgraph-cli 0.4.37, released October 19, changes deploy to target serverless by default. The release also stops the CLI from printing subprocess stdin in verbose output, which prevents piped input from showing up in logs. Teams with scripts that rely on the previous default deploy target should check them before upgrading. Source
