1. OpenAI, WAN-IFRA, and AIRPPU Launch an AI Program for Ukrainian Newsrooms

OpenAI announced a joint initiative with WAN-IFRA and the Association of Independent Regional Press Publishers of Ukraine to build AI capability inside Ukrainian news organizations operating under wartime conditions. The program has two parts: a Newsroom AI Masterclass Series open to the sector, and a Newsroom AI Catalyst that pairs 10 selected outlets with mentors to identify high-impact use cases, draft implementation roadmaps, and pilot custom tooling for their specific editorial and publishing constraints. All participating organizations receive OpenAI API credits, giving them direct model access to build their own applications rather than depending on off-the-shelf products. Source
