1. AI SDK 7 Adds HarnessAgent for Programming Claude Code, Codex, and Pi

Vercel. AI SDK 7 introduced HarnessAgent, a single API for running established agent harnesses such as Claude Code, Codex, and Pi. The abstraction manages skills, sandboxes, sessions, and permission flows, letting developers swap the underlying harness the same way they switch models. Results remain compatible with existing AI SDK tooling like useChat, and Vercel says additional harnesses are coming soon. Source

2. Kimi K2.7 Code Lands on AI Gateway

Vercel. Moonshot AI’s Kimi K2.7 Code is now available through Vercel’s AI Gateway under the identifier moonshotai/kimi-k2.7-code. The model is built for long-horizon programming tasks spanning frontend development, DevOps, and performance optimization. It uses a native multimodal architecture that supports text and vision input and always runs in thinking mode. Source
