Google AI Updates: April 30, 2026
1. Google TV Picks Up Nano Banana, Veo, and Gemini Photos Search
Google. Google TV is gaining Nano Banana for voice-driven photo edits (outfit and background swaps) and Veo for text-to-video and still-image animation, plus Gemini-powered Google Photos search and a “Remix” style-transfer feature. The features roll out first on Gemini-enabled TCL TVs in the US and extend Google’s effort to position the living-room screen as a creative surface rather than a passive playback device. Source
2. April Gemini Drop Adds Personal Intelligence Image Generation, macOS App, and Notebooks
Google. The April Gemini Drop adds personalized image generation tied to Personal Intelligence, expands Personal Intelligence cross-app assistance globally, and ships a native macOS Gemini app. It also introduces Notebooks for project organization, Lyria 3 Pro music creation, and interactive 3D explainer visualizations. The release continues Google’s monthly cadence of bundling consumer Gemini app updates and treats Personal Intelligence — its on-device, context-aware layer — as the connective tissue across the surface. 3. GM Will Roll Gemini to Roughly 4 Million US Vehicles
Google. GM said it will deploy Gemini to about 4 million US vehicles (2022+ Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC models with Google Built-In) over the coming months via OTA updates, replacing Google Assistant. Gemini will handle messaging, navigation, and music with natural-language interaction, making this one of the largest in-vehicle Gemini deployments to date and giving Google an embedded voice-AI footprint that competitors will struggle to match through aftermarket apps.
