1. OpenAI Reshuffles Leadership as Product Chief Simo Takes Medical Leave

OpenAI. Product and business chief Fidji Simo announced medical leave due to worsening POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). President Greg Brockman takes over product oversight, COO Brad Lightcap moves to a “special projects” role, and CRO Denise Dresser assumes most COO responsibilities. Marketing Chief Kate Rouch is also stepping down to focus on breast cancer recovery. The shakeup comes as OpenAI manages nearly 1 billion users and prepares for a potential IPO. Source

2. Codex Adds Pay-As-You-Go Pricing for Teams, ChatGPT Business Drops to $20/Seat

OpenAI. Teams on ChatGPT Business and Enterprise can now add Codex-only seats with pay-as-you-go pricing billed on token consumption, with no fixed seat fee or rate limits. ChatGPT Business annual pricing dropped from $25 to $20 per seat, and new Codex-only team members receive up to $500 in credits. OpenAI reports Codex users have grown 6x since January, with over 2 million builders using it weekly. Source

3. GPT-4o Fully Retired from Enterprise and Edu Custom GPTs

OpenAI. GPT-4o was fully removed from ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, and Edu plans on April 3, the final cutoff after consumer plans dropped it in February. Custom GPTs previously using GPT-4o were auto-migrated to GPT-5.3 Instant or GPT-5.4 Thinking/Pro equivalents. GPT-4o remains available through the API for developers who need it. Source
