AWS AI Updates: April 1, 2026
1. Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Evaluations Reaches General Availability
Amazon launched AgentCore Evaluations into general availability, giving developers automated quality assessment for AI agents through continuous evaluation of production traffic and testing workflows. The service includes 13 built-in evaluators covering response quality, safety, task completion, and tool usage, with support for custom evaluators written in Python, JavaScript, or as LLM-based prompts. Online evaluation continuously monitors live agent traces, while on-demand evaluation supports regression testing in CI/CD pipelines. The service is available in nine regions including US East (N. Virginia), Europe (Frankfurt), and Asia Pacific (Tokyo). Source
2. SageMaker Unified Studio Adds CloudWatch Metrics for AWS Glue Jobs
Amazon added CloudWatch metrics visualization to SageMaker Unified Studio for AWS Glue jobs, allowing data engineers to view DPU utilization, memory consumption, CPU load, and data movement size alongside job logs in a single interface. The integration helps teams identify compute bottlenecks, detect memory pressure or out-of-memory conditions, and optimize resource allocation without switching between consoles. The feature is available in all regions where SageMaker Unified Studio is generally available. Source
