1. Google Launches Notebooks in Gemini with NotebookLM Integration

Google. Google launched Notebooks in the Gemini app, personal knowledge bases that sync with NotebookLM. Users can group chats, uploaded files (up to 100 sources), and custom instructions around a single project. Sources added in either Gemini or NotebookLM automatically appear in both, enabling features like Video Overviews and Infographics. Rolling out this week to AI Ultra, Pro, and Plus subscribers on web, with mobile and free tier coming later. Source

2. Google and Intel Deepen AI Infrastructure Partnership

Google. Google Cloud and Intel announced an expanded multiyear partnership for AI data center infrastructure. Google Cloud will deploy Intel’s latest Xeon 6 chips and the companies will deepen co-development of custom Infrastructure Processing Units (IPUs) that offload networking, storage, and security tasks from CPUs. 3. Gmail Outage Puts Spotlight on Gemini AI Rollout Risks

Google. A Gmail service disruption on April 8 caused delays in sending and receiving emails, coinciding with Google’s ongoing Gemini AI integration into Gmail. The outage, resolved the same day, highlighted the risks of rapidly rolling out AI features across Gmail’s 2 billion user base.
